Rotating views on sheets in Revit is simple, although it may not be immediately obvious. In this blog, we will look at how to rotate a view that has been placed on a sheet.
You may have noticed in Revit, that if you try to use the Rotate command on a view on a sheet, the command is greyed out when you select the view:

To rotate a view, you need to have the crop box selected. This is different to the viewport seen above. First you need to activate the view, by either double clicking inside the view, or by left-clicking the Activate View button on the Modify tab:

Now you need to ensure the crop box is visible by enabling the Crop Region Visible property in the views Properties:

Left click and select the crop box, which should now be visible. In the Properties window, click the drop-down for the property ‘Rotation on Sheet’, and choose an option.

Congratulations, you have now rotated the view on the sheet!
