How To Divide Open Plan Rooms In Revit

Do you have an open plan room with multiple uses such as Kitchen, Living, Dining rooms and want to designate each area separately? Well you can!

In Revit, rooms are limited by room bounding elements such as walls, floors, roofs and ceilings. But if two areas are not separated by a wall, what can we use to divide them?

Here is how to divide up an open space into seperate rooms:

1. On the Architecture Tab, Room & Area group, start the Room Separator command.

2. Using the line tool draw from wall face to wall face the boundary between the two rooms.

3. Place separate rooms into each area.

Its as simple as that! Don’t forget to check out the Man and Machine blog for more great tips and tricks.
