If you’re updating to Autodesk Vault 2026.1, you’ll notice a couple changes. In this article, we’ll investigate the change made to Numbering Schemes within Copy Design.
When using Copy Design in Vault 2026.1, you may decide to use a numbering scheme. Attempting to change the numbering scheme from None, the dropdown is blank and cannot be configured. Within this update and going forwards, Autodesk have restricted users on what they can select.
To enable Numbering Schemes, you’ll need an Administrator to carry out the following steps:
- Head into Configure (if this is greyed out, you lack the required permissions).
- A dialog will appear, showing all the schemes active within your Vault environment. From here, we can enable any Number Schemes you want within the Shown column.
- We can also change the default scheme from None.
- Select ok, and the Numbering Schemes should now populate. If not, please restart your Vault Client.
Going forwards, all users will now have access to the chosen Numbering Schemes within Copy Design.
