**Please note, as of 24th March 2026, the Autodesk Construction Cloud has joined the Forma industry cloud and has been rebranded as Forma. Find out more details here.**

Content Catalog is a cloud-based solution to manage assets for use across multiple projects in multiple authoring solutions – Revit, AutoCAD, Civil 3D and Rhino. It’s a way to ensure that everyone is accessing the latest BIM data, by maintaining a single source of truth for accessing, versioning and maintaining content ‘Collections’, as Autodesk refers to them. Content Collections are essentially libraries that can contain not just user-created families, but also system families, details, drafting views, sheets and associated file formats such as RTE, DWG and DWTs.
Formerly known as Unifi Pro, Autodesk acquired the system in mid-2024 and brought it into the AEC ecosystem, integrating with the Autodesk Construction Cloud, to expand the functionality available when it comes to digital asset management.
The Content Catalog app is access from manage.autodesk.com/products or on Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) for Account Admins from Account Admin > Library > Content Catalog:

On ACC, you can create new account Collections, access ‘out-of-the-box’ Autodesk content and design user groups.
User Groups are used to define permissions for the Content Catalog, as to who has access to read, download/insert (into model) content, upload content (the Collection) or edit Collections. User Groups should be organised by what content members need to see, as well as overarching administrators.

Search for Content
This allows you to search for specific content, organise results by columns for fields such as ‘category’, ‘tags’ or any parameters contained within the content:

- Search within a specific Collection:

- Organise by any field, ie ‘Category’:

- Drag and drop any field intro ‘Drag here to set row groups’ to organise searched content by the field, eg splitting out the content into the different Collections, rather than viewing all ‘Door’ results from multiple Collections in one table. Add additional fields to organise the results tree by multiple fields:

- Tags can be pre-defined by by the Content Administrators to provide further options for grouping components.

- Other Filters can be used to narrow down content searches, eg Revit Year – 2026.

Browse for Content
This allows you to navigate through content folders in large icon views without searching specifically for something.

Saved Searches
- Commonly searched for content can be saved from ‘Search for Content’ to quickly navigate to these results in the future.
- View your Saved Searches and group them.

Request Center

Request Center is how any user who does not have higher-level permissions can apply for Content to either be uploaded (if they already have the content) or created (if there is something that they would like to see on the Content Catalog that does not yet exist elsewhere).
This provides a formalised way of new content being added to the Collection, as new requests have to be validated and approved by Editors or Admins. This way, Admins have a controlled workflow to ensure all content keeps to the same standards, whether that is naming convention, correct usage of categories and tags, or using the latest Revit version for new content. Requesters can set a priority for the request, add specification and attachments, and more.

Insert
Inserting Content from Content Catalog to a supported authoring software is simple.
- Either search or browse for content and select Insert next to the specific content.
- Switch to the authoring software (eg Revit) and the Family automatically loads in.
Utilising the Content Catalog means that even Content that has been created on an older version of the software does not require an update when inserted – the upgrade is essentially managed on the Content Catalog app.
- After selecting multiple Families, you can also Batch insert, or download locally, amongst other settings.

Upload Content/Batch Export
Any content that is uploaded to Content Catalog is done so through the Upload Content area, by simply dragging and dropping files or selecting them from a file location.

If you have a Revit file open, Content Catalog can be used to quickly generate a list of all Families from a project and export any or all Families from that project (or linked projects) to the Content Catalog (eg if you already have a project that you use as your BIM library).

Content Catalog Summary
- Content Catalog offers an easy way of managing content for use in Revit, AutoCAD, Civil 3D and Rhino.
- Administrators and Editors can control content being added for use amongst the wider organisation and manage content requests, with a full history of approvals.
- Search for content using filters and parameters from content metadata.
- At the time of writing, Content Catalog does not contain all features from Unifi, such as shared parameter management, favourites and personal saved searches, though there is ongoing development to bring further functionality into ACC.
The Autodesk Content Catalog is more than just a library of digital assets – it’s a powerful companion for architects, engineers and designers and builders who want to streamline their workflow and elevate the quality of their projects. By giving you quick access to the latest company BIM content, the Catalog removes and saves valuable time during project development.
Ultimately, embracing the platform isn’t just about finding content – it’s about empowering your entire design process. If you haven’t already explored this tool now is the perfect time to unlock its full potential and integrate it into your daily practice.
