Autodesk Vault 2027 New Feature – Thin Client Improvements

Autodesk Vault 2027 includes a number of practical usability updates, and one area that continues to improve is the Thin Client experience.

For businesses that need quick access to design data without a full Autodesk Vault license, Thin Client provides a browser-based way to access Vault information. This is particularly useful for users who need visibility of files and properties without requiring the full desktop client.

In Vault 2027, Autodesk have improved how files are previewed in the browser, making it easier for users to quickly review drawings and models without opening the full desktop application. However, one of the most noticeable updates is the Property panel which is now resizable and persistent.

This means users can adjust the width of the panel to better view longer property names and values, and Vault will remember their preferred layout for future sessions. While it may seem like a small change, it resolves a long-standing frustration for many users.

A Better Experience for More Users and Small Changes Improving Everyday Work

Thin Client is often used by non-CAD users who need access to data rather than the tools to edit it. Giving these users a cleaner and more adaptable interface can improve efficiency and reduce frustration.

The ability to quickly review metadata, file details and associated information without switching screens or constantly resizing windows helps users work faster. For teams in procurements, production or project delivery, faster access to accurate information supports better decision-making.

By making the Property panel resizable and persistent, Autodesk have improved visibility and made the Thin Client experience more practical for day-to-day use.
