Autodesk Vault 2027 New Feature – Smarter Copy Design

Autodesk Vault 2027 brings a range of practical improvements designed to streamline everyday workflows, and one of the most useful updates for design teams is the enhancement to Copy Design.

For many Inventor users, Vault Copy Design is a core part of the design process. Whether creating product variants, adapting an existing assembly, or reusing previous work as the basis for a new project, Copy Design helps us re-use data quickly, whilst maintaining relationships and dependencies.

In Autodesk Vault 2027, Autodesk has made this workflow even smarter. With the latest update, users can now edit specific properties during the Copy Design process itself, reducing manual rework and helping ensure copied designed are accurate from the outset.

What’s New in Copy Design?

Previously, many users would run Copy Design first and then manually update properties afterwards. This often meant opening files individually or having to locate and select specific files to carry out a bulk property edit to amend information like part numbers, descriptions, project codes, or customer-specific references.

In Autodesk Vault 2027, we can edit multiple properties at once before completing the copy, making it easier to prepare and review the files before they are created. Autodesk has also introduced the ability to copy and paste values directly from Excel, allowing users to update multiple rows of metadata quickly.
