Autodesk Vault 2027 New Feature – PLM Connectivity

Autodesk Vault 2027 continues Autodesk’s push towards a more connected engineering ecosystem, with further improvements to PLM connectivity between Autodesk Vault and Autodesk Fusion Manage.

For many manufacturers, engineering teams have traditionally used Autodesk Vault to manage CAD files and revisions, while BOM data is often manually transferred into ERP systems – sometimes through spreadsheets, manual exports, or even someone retyping the information. Businesses then rely on ERP or separate systems to manage processes such as purchasing, quality, change management and project management. This disconnected approach can create inefficiencies, duplication and unnecessary risk across the wider business.

Autodesk’s answer to this has been Fusion Manage PLM, which is now enhanced with the native Vault Connector.

First introduced in Autodesk Vault 2026, the Vault Connector provided an out-of-the-box way to synchronise Vault Items and BOMs into Fusion manage without the need for custom integrations delivered by tools such as Man and Machine’s PDM Booster.

Autodesk then expanded those capabilities further with the introduction of an integrated Fusion Manage panel inside Autodesk Vault, making it easier to view and interact with synced data.

Now in Autodesk Vault 2027, Autodesk have continues to build on that foundation.

What’s New in Vault 2027?

The latest PLM Connectivity updates focus on improving visibility and control. Users can now view synced Items and Change details directly inside of Vault, giving engineering teams better visibility of what has already been transferred into Fusion Manage.

Autodesk has also introduced the ability to sync lifecycle state updates from Fusion Manage back into Vault, helping keep both systems aligned.

Additional enhancements include the ability to configure which file types are synced as attachments and map primary file properties for richer Item data in Fusion Manage.

These updates reduce manual intervention and help improve data consistency across systems.

A More Connected Digital Thread

At Man and Machine, we often work with customers looking to connect engineering with purchasing, manufacturing, quality and operations. A stronger link between Vault and Fusion Manage helps create that digital thread. For organisations pursuing digital transformation, these updates make Autodesk’s connected PDM and PLM offering even more compelling.
