Autodesk Fusion CAM Workholdings

One of the standout features within the Fusion Manufacturing environment, is its ability to simulate toolpaths before posting. A great way to improve the accuracy of these simulations is to add fixtures into the setup. This can be a difficult task to complete when we don’t always have the appropriate, or accurate, models to worth with, let alone the time to make these. This is where Fusion’s Workholding dataset comes in.

Accessing Example Files

Fusion has a large library of Sample files that are freely accessible to anyone with a license to Autodesk Fusion. These are found within the Datapanel where you store your files, below the project list. These contain Basic Training, CAM, Design and Electronic Samples, as well as a range of other libraries. Each library contains highly detailed models which are available for testing workflows and functionality within Fusion.

With the CAM Samples library, there is a Workholding folder which in itself, contains various subfolders, dedicated to Vendors and Workholding Types.

Wokholding Example Files

There are many Workholding Example Files, whether you are looking at getting a few clamps into an assembly using the components within Hold Down Clamp Kit:

Or using the Generic 3 Jaw Chuck to place a component in the centre of your table:

Or even looking to do some 5-axis machining and need an easily adjustable Jaw all setup and ready to go, using the 5th Axis – V562.

These, and many more, are available within the library, allowing us to add them to our own projects and assembly files, giving us more accurate simulations using a painless workflow.
