Creating your Autodesk Network License File

Creating your Autodesk Network License File

In this blog I will show you how you can easily create your own Autodesk License file. If you didn’t know already, every year your Autodesk license file needs to be updated to keep up with the latest releases of Autodesk software and also to stop you inadvertently using any old software you are no longer entitled to use. Following my quick guide bellow I will guide you step by step on how this can easily and quickly be done.

You can call Man and Machine and we will be happy to take you through this, but to save yourself some time, you can do this yourself from the comfort of your own desk.
You, of course will need the permission of the company account manager or software co-ordinator to generate your own licence file but the below takes you through step by step on how to create your own licence file.

Firstly, generating network license files in Autodesk Account requires you to have an Autodesk Account and provide information about your network license server(s). Here is the information required for each server model type:
Single Server Model:
• Host name and physical address of the server

Redundant Server Model:
• Host name and physical address for all three servers

Distributed Server Model:
• Number of servers in the distributed server model
• Host name and physical address for each server
• Number of seats on each server

After you have created your Autodesk Network License File, you will need to have the most up to date version of the licence manager which can be found here and if you need assistance in setting this up and configuring, you can call us here at Man and Machine or the instructions can be found here
